Business Visa

Human Rights

The UK is obliged to protect your human rights when they make decisions which affect you or your loved ones. Asylum & Humanitarian Protection

You must apply for asylum if you want to stay in the UK as a refugee. To be eligible, you must have left your country and be unable to go back because you fear persecution. Please review this section for more information if this applies to you.

British Citizenship

Naturalisation is a process by which UK citizenship is granted to foreign nationals. After you have lived in the UK for a certain period of time you may be eligible to Naturalise as a British citizen. If you wish to become a British citizen please review this section for further information.

Visit Visas

To visit the UK as a tourist, for business, for private medical treatment, or to see friends and family, you will need to apply for a visit visa.

HM Forces

Serving members of the UK’s Armed Forces (Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, Gurkhas) may be exempt from UK immigration control. Dependants of serving members may also be eligible to join them in the UK. If you are a member of HM Forces review this section for further information.

Immigration Bail

If you have been detained at an immigration detention centre you may be eligible for temporary release on bail, which means that you will be released from detention under specific conditions.

Judicial Review

Judicial Review is the process whereby judges of the High Court & Upper Tribunal assess the lawfulness of actions of public bodies such as the Home Office. It is possible to challenge immigration decisions made by the Home Office by way of Judicial Review.

Appeals

If you have received a decision from the Home Office or Entry Clearance Officer that you do not agree with, you may wish to challenge that decision. The most effective method of challenging this is with a tribunal appeal.

Administrative Review

Where you do not have a right to appeal a decision made by the Home Office or Entry Clearance Officer, you may be able to have that decision re-assessed through a process called Administrative Review. This process applies if you have been refused a UK visa.

Brexit

If you are an EU citizen, you and your family members (including non-EU family members) will need to apply for an immigration status to continue living in the UK. Similarly, if you are a business in the UK, hiring employees from the EU, you may need to assess the documents your employees hold in order to continue employing them.

English Language Requirement

The existing rules will still apply to applications under any other route. Therefore, if you are not applying in one of the above categories, or are applying before 1 December 2020, you can disregard the new Appendix English Language. For everyone else, here is a brief overview of the new rules.
